Motion Attempt, yeah...What about a Stop Attempt?

I couldn't find anything but...is there something buried in the rules which would allow a vehicle currently in Motion to make something like a "Motion Attempt", but would instead allow them to make a "Stop Attempt". Seems odd that you could attempt one and not the other, given that I think starting would normally be more onerous (1940ish mechanics) than the other.

An 88LL will get it stopped pretty quick.

Or, if you're in Bog terrain, you can try changing VCA.

Note 3 at the end of Chapter D explains the reasoning behind the Motion attempt rule. Stopping doesn't fit with that reasoning.

If an AFV doesn't have enough MP to Stop, you can always try ESB for the extra 1 MP. The vehicle will stop no matter what you roll.
